Darik's Boot and Nuke

A quick post on, Darik's Boot and Nuke, AKA DBAN for short. I had the pleasure to use this program last week, and i felt very confident with it. It it has the power to fill your hard drive with random data, or do a zero fill, also know as low level format. There are several option on how you want your hard drive wiped clean, depending on how good of a job you want. First there is two types of pseudo random generators. Then there are 6 different wipe methods. Even one that applies to the Department of Defence standards. This program is great since it makes several pass to make sure the data is wiped. Do a clean wipe and zero fill is great, it can help remove stuck bytes that no longer want to flip. After using this program, i will always use it before a clean install of a OS.

For the first time it looks like someone has been able to arrange permanent magnets in such a way to create perpetual motion. There is a big fuss about this over on the Steorn forum.

Busy Week

You don't think this rant thing is working out?

Yes and No.

Little review. The reason why i came up with such a thing, is to keep this blog regular. And i have been posting regular, almost ever day.

Now that's not my excuse why there was not one yesterday. I have just been busy, plain and simple. I even have a few ideas for a rant, and have started one already. Reason why i could not complete it, is i had no INTERNET! Seriously, i been helping out a family member with their computer.  Did a clean wipe of the whole compute, according to Department of Security specs. Then i installed a little Ubuntu on it. The thing runs like a dream.

Another reason why i did not post my rant, something may come up today, that may change my outlook. There for i don't what to be hypocrite.

I would like to think the publisher for her timely matter in handling my E-mail. I got the reply from my original E-mail the same day. I apologies to my readers on such a delay with sharing their response. I also hope the publisher don't mind me sharing their e-mail with you.

well That's that,  right? No.  It still not fix, Fine, it is a commentary aka blog,  I will let the author be mistaken. There is a small twist, that i tyred to un-wined.

Three days later, i get an immature comment.  Besides finding it rude i found it miss place. If you have the problem how i look, don't post it in serious post i wrote which has nothing to do how intelligent i look. Another reason why i found it to be rude and immature is how he/she ends with a "Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

The reason why i bring this up is because when i was going though my stats earlier this week i found an odd connection. First i want to state i use a 3rd party stats system, that does not use cookies, and i cant vouch how accurate the stats are. I was able to trace a hit by a referral from northcountrygazette.org on the same day as the comment. They also visited my posting, is it murder when, feeding tube removed. To me it all fits together

Double Post Tuesday

I have feeling I'm going to make two post today. Actually I'm almost certain because right after this one is posted, i will start the other and post it latter tonight. These 2 posts are going to be short, and unrelated, the reason for two posts.

Last night i was looking at the stats for this blog, and was some what happy with the results. Getting several hits a day, from all kind of sources. The problem is that there are only 9 subscribe readers. And the sad part is about 3 of those are from me. So the 6 other people that have subscribed what would you like to see?

I think over the next few months the post may become shorter again, since i will most likely be posting between class. I also want to do more coding projects. Currently i have not programed in some time, and have afew projects need to be completed. I want to shy away from beginner tutorial, even though the code will not be complex. Reason being i don't think i have the qualifications to teach though this blog.

The good news is that Google is doing a great job indexing and caching this site. Google scans my site a few times each day, which is great for those who use Google to find my content. The traffic is great, but stats show they stay on less then 2 min and do not return.
